connect week...

We are so excited about this coming Sunday because it is a CONNECT week at REMIX, you may wonder what in the world I am talking about so here it goes! This is a week for us to connect with our friends and invite them to come check REMIX out. We are in between series, there will be no life[groups] and this is the perfect night to invite someone to REMIX. We hope to see some new faces and get to make some new connections. We are planning a sweet "surprise" after the gathering so make sure and do not miss REMIX this week.

Some big news out of the relevant office...
This week is OPERATION SERVE week, just one Saturday when about 500 folks from GCC will go out and serve our community. A tone of students from relevant are helping so we are praying God will do some great things and we will all be able to show the love of God to our community! For more info go to www.gcomchurch.com

YES our fall retreat is planned and we are pumped about telling you about it. We call our little fall adventure CRAVE and our idea is that we can get away for a weekend and maybe learn to CRAVE God a little more. The dates are Nov. 3-4 and the details are coming soon, one little secret, we are heading to a city and not somewhere in the woods...

first baptism...

Tonight was an incredible night at REMIX, we got to baptize my friend LT Roper. I met LT the second week I was here at GCC, his friend Ethan had invited him to church and guess what, He met Jesus Christ and became a Christ follower. It was so amazing, he immediately plugged in and we got to celebrate baptism with him tonight our student gathering, REMIX. Yes we had a great night, getting to meet LT's family and celebrate with them was amazing. We also got to see week 2 of our life[groups] and that went so well - the group leaders and students are really connecting...we think it is a win when kids actually get to talk about and reflect on what we talked about in our gathering.

We wrap up our ATTACHED series this week so make plans to be there for the final week of ATTACHED. We once again messed up recording the service so I am going to post a podacst from the office this week, make sure and check that out. We are working on a little surprise for Sept. 30...it will probably just be a surprise, just want you to know we are working on it!

never live life alone...

At REMIX we hope no teen lives life alone. We really believe that every human being needs relationships in their life that are significant. This week we launched life[groups] to make sure every student connected with REMIX had someone investing in their life. YES we did launch groups and it was wild to see them in motion, it all flowed well and we gave everyone a chance not just to hang out in our gathering and here a band play and speaker speak but rather take time to actually think and talk together with other students. Life[groups] are just groups of 6-10 students who meet each week at REMIX to talk about the message, life, football, or whatever with their life coach (an adult leader at REMIX). Do not worry if you you are not in a life[group] yet you can join one next week, there will be a life[group] table set for you to find your group!

This week we move to week 2 of our ATTACHED series where we are trying to figure out what we are attached to in our life. Where do we find our satisfaction? REMIX back September 9

Yes WE ARE BACK with REMIX on SEPTEMBER 9! We hope to see you and hope you invite others to check out and experience REMIX...6 PM, see you there...

We start a new series called ATTACHED this week. Every one of us is attached to something—some person, thing or experience. The trouble with our attachments is that sometimes they let us down. For the next three weeks we will be exploring the attachments that become part of our identity, and uncovering the truth about our identity in Christ.
